The Sensokan Dojo "School of War" Indianapolis is a very unique martial arts school by todays standards. In fact it could be said that it is the antithesis of the modern commericalized martial arts school. There are no children, no multi-colored belts, no tournaments or seminars, and there is no tuition.
The Sensokan Dojo is headed for the last 30 years under the direction of Ted Hanulak Sensei, a former decorated police officer, who continues to pass on the lost tradition of true Japanese martial arts and Zen training to those who are worthy. We teach the Japanese style of Senso-Ryu, developed in the mid 1900's from various Samurai arts The art of Senso-Ryu consits of: JUJUTSU / JIU-JITSU AIKIJUJUTSU KENJUTSU ZEN MEDITATION You will buy your own uniform from outside the dojo but we supply everything else. We accept no money, neither from tuition or donation. Novices classes are held every Saturday from 12 - 3pm. If you wish to become a student of the Sensokan, you must first request an interview with Hanulak Sensei. Upon his approval, you will become a novice student. The Sensokan Dojo is located on Hanulak Sensei's personal property so space is limited. Send an interview request to: contactdojo@comcast.net Interviews are held on Saturdays at 12:00 PM.
